Black Duck Software, Inc.'s Global State of DevSecOps 2024 report revealed that an overwhelming 96% of Singapore businesses use AI within their software development process. Over 70% of companies in Singapore integrate AI technologies into their operations, surging by 37% over the past three years.

However, the report showed that 67% of respondents expressed concerns about potential vulnerabilities introduced by AI-assisted coding tools.
"Embracing AI is not just a strategic advantage—it's essential for organisations looking to thrive in today's fast-paced digital landscape. As businesses harness AI to streamline processes and boost productivity, they must also maintain a watchful eye on security," said Tan Geok Cheng, managing director of APAC, Black Duck.

The report also revealed that evaluating approaches to software security testing to safeguard sensitive information is a key priority for 37% of respondents.
Additionally, the report found that over 60% of the global respondents said that security testing moderates or severely slow development. Further, almost half (49%) of organisations adopt automated prioritisation for security issues.
The Black Duck report also found that 86% exhibited sensitive data exposure issues, accounting for over 30,000 vulnerabilities, including 4,800 critical-risk instances.
