Around 90% of APJ organisations prioritise AI solutions to modernise their IT infrastructure (84%)or to advance their edge strategy (81%) according to Nutanix State of Enterprise AI Report for Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ).
“As more enterprises adopt AI applications and workloads, we can expect a new wave of IT infrastructure modernisation initiatives focused on data mobility, security, and protection." said Aaron White, vice president and general manager, APJ Sales, at Nutanix.
Key findings
Around 90% of APJ respondents said their organisations prioritise AI especially in deploying virtual assistants/customer support bots (50%), and generative AI solutions (52%). However, respondents admit to lacking generative AI, engineering and data science skills, and workforce.
Most respondents (92%) consider security and reliability in their AI strategy.
The report further revealed that organisations in APJ prefer to build their AI applications by purchasing existing AI models or using existing open-source AI models (86%) than building their models (5%).
More than half (56%) of APJ respondents plan to improve data movement between cloud, data center, and edge environments, and 55% said they plan to improve data movement between multiple public clouds.

“Our recent survey has uncovered an important theme among enterprises adopting AI solutions - a growing requirement for data mobility and data protection across data center, cloud, and edge infrastructure environments. At the heart of this trend is a fundamental understanding among most enterprises regarding the need to explore AI technologies and solutions to maintain a competitive edge," added White.
